Overview

JOBE Perth Fullsuit 3|2mm Chestzip Men's Wetsuit - Grey - Size 2XL

A wetsuit that feels like a second skin! The Jobe Portland Chestzipper has a warm thermo liner which will keep you warm. A comfy high-end feel has been created by our flexible neoprene and zipper on the front instead of back. But once the temperature is going up and you're in need of a shorty, you can simply cut of the legs of this suit, due to the optional cutline above the knees.

  • Made of 50% based limestone neoprene
  • Chest zipper for max flex & minimal water entry
  • 3 mm neoprene on chest & back, 2 mm on other panels
  • Durable flatlock seams
  • Full stretch neoprene
  • Protective strong knee pads
  • Strengthening tape inside

Understanding Wetsuit Thickness

Understanding Wetsuit Thickness
The thickness of a wetsuit is the most important criteria to consider. Generally, the greater the thickness - the warmer the wetsuit will be. On the contrary, the less flexible the wetsuit – the more your movements are restricted in the water. The thickness of the neoprene is determined in millimeters using 3 or 2 numbers: the first number corresponds to the thickest part of the wetsuit which is normally on the torso and back and the second number corresponds to the thinnest part of the wetsuit which is normally on the legs and arms.

Choosing The Correct Wetsuit Thickness

Choosing The Correct Wetsuit Thickness
  • The 5/4 or 5/4/3 thickness of a full wetsuit, mainly intended for cold waters below 12°C, offers an effective protection against the cold in winter.
  • The 4/3 thickness of a full wetsuit is the perfect year-round balance source and provides freedom of movement for fresh waters between 12°C and 17°C.
  • The 3/2 thickness, available in different types of wetsuits, guarantees superior comfort thanks to its softer neoprene which is excellent for temperate waters between 17°C and 20°C.
  • The 2/2 thickness is nicer in summer, for warm waters over 20°C, thanks to the ease of movement provided by the shorty for example, the ultimate summer wetsuit.

Chest Zip Construction

Chest Zip Construction
Another important criteria to remember are the closures that allow you to put on and take off your wetsuit. The Chest Zip construction is based on a zip located at the front of the chest that opens on one side only that restrics water entry. Indeed, its watertight property guarantees it to play its thermal role and to ensure a high protection. On the other hand, this surf wetsuit requires a little more effort to put it on and take off due to its slight lack of flexibility on entry.
